As I’ve written above, the pronunciation varies a lot in South Africa. The most important factor distinguishing South African speakers is the dialect with its unique phrases (of local origin) and idioms.

There are however some distinctive features like the flat “i” sound popular in South Africa and New Zealand English. Another important quality is that South African speakers do not have a rising intonation common in Australia.
